# SFL Registration Data Notice
This notice summarizes how SFL uses the information you give on the registration form. The SFL Privacy Notice at https://the-sfl.com/privacy is the full statement. If the two ever differ, the Privacy Notice controls.
# 1. Who we are
Strike Fighter League Inc., a Delaware corporation ("SFL"), is the controller of your registration data. Contact: [email protected], or by post to 800 N King Street, Suite 304-3164, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States. Section 2 of the Privacy Notice covers SFL's EU and UK representatives.
# 2. What we collect on the form
The form marks which fields are required. Required fields are needed to run your account and your competition, and without them you cannot register. Optional fields are your choice, and leaving them blank changes nothing about your eligibility.
(a) Account: your email address and a password of at least 12 characters. SFL stores your password only in hashed form, never as readable text, and uses it only to sign you in.
(b) Identity and contact: your legal first and last name, callsign, display name and mobile phone number.
(c) Location: your country of residence, state or region, city and time zone, the nationality you compete under, and your primary language.
(d) Game and community identities: your Discord user ID and handle, whether you are a member of the SFL Discord server, and your DCS UCID (your DCS game-account identifier).
(e) Connection: the SFL server region closest to you, your ping to SFL servers, and your connection type.
(f) Age: your date of birth and your age confirmation. You must be at least 13 to register. If you are under 18, you also give the name and email address of a parent or guardian. SFL uses them only to obtain and record guardian consent and to contact your parent or guardian about your participation.
(g) Experience and setup: your years flying DCS, the aircraft you fly, your competitive experience, the PvP servers you fly on, your typical weekly hours, your display type, HOTAS, rudder pedals and PC specifications.
(h) Competition: your primary strength, your primary aircraft, why you want to compete, and your best competitive flying experience.
(i) Optional extras: content-creator details, a reference contact, a link to a Tacview replay clip, how you heard about SFL, and anything else you choose to tell us. If you give a reference contact, SFL uses it only to check your competitive history.
(j) Help us grow the sport: SFL stores your answers in this optional section only if you tick its separate research box.
(k) Your choices: each box you tick, with the version of the document it refers to, the date and time, the legal basis SFL recorded, and the version of the Privacy Notice in force.
SFL's systems also log technical data, such as IP addresses, for security (Privacy Notice sections 3 and 18).
# 3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
For pilots in the European Economic Area and the UK:
(a) To create and run your account, check your eligibility under SFL's rules, verify your Discord identity and DCS UCID, schedule, seed and score you, and send you service messages about your registration and the events you enter: our agreement with you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
(b) To hold a parent or guardian's details for a pilot under 18: legitimate interests in protecting pilots under 18 (Art. 6(1)(f)).
(c) To protect fair play and the security of SFL systems, including one account per pilot: legitimate interests in fair competition and security (Art. 6(1)(f)).
(d) To keep a record of what you ticked, and when: legitimate interests in being able to show what you agreed to (Art. 6(1)(f)).
(e) To include your answers (for example your experience, hardware and country) in aggregated statistics about the competitive field: your consent, given by ticking the research box (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time from your account page.
Where SFL relies on legitimate interests, you can object (Privacy Notice section 9). Section 4 of the Privacy Notice lists every purpose and legal basis, including under Brazilian law. Sections 14 and 15 cover other countries and California.
# 4. What we do not do
SFL does not sell your account, identity, payment, tax or anti-cheat data. This notice does not let SFL license your registration data to anyone, or use it to train AI models. Aggregated statistics about the competitive field, which cannot identify any individual pilot, include your answers only if you tick the research box.
# 5. Who sees it
(a) SFL staff and officials who need it for the purposes above.
(b) Service providers that host the portal, deliver email or support registration, acting only on SFL's instructions.
(c) Authorities, where the law requires it.
(d) The public, which sees your callsign, your nationality flag and any profile details you make public, in rosters, results and SFL coverage under the SFL Media Release.
Section 7 of the Privacy Notice has the full list, including Discord.
# 6. How long we keep it
Your registration data: for the life of your account, then 24 months after it closes. The record of what you ticked, and when: 6 years after the processing it authorizes ends. Section 18 of the Privacy Notice lists every other period.
# 7. International transfers
SFL is a US company, and your registration data is processed in the United States. Where they apply, SFL protects transfers to its service providers with the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, for UK data, the UK Addendum or the International Data Transfer Agreement, included in SFL's data-processing terms with each provider as those terms are put in place. SFL does not rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Sections 8 and 14 of the Privacy Notice explain this in full, including for pilots in Brazil, Switzerland and other countries.
# 8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask SFL for a copy of your data, and ask SFL to correct, delete or export it, or to restrict or stop using it. You can withdraw any consent you gave. You can also complain to your data-protection authority. Use your account page or write to [email protected]. SFL needs your required registration data to run your account, so if you ask SFL to delete it, SFL closes your account. Sections 9 and 10 of the Privacy Notice explain each right.
# 9. Versions and changes
This notice is information for you, not a contract term. SFL versions it the same way it versions the Privacy Notice: each version has a version id and an effective date, SFL keeps every earlier version, and the record of your tick names the version you saw. A change that expands what SFL collects on the form, or how SFL uses it, never takes effect for you by silence. It needs your affirmative acceptance. Narrowing or neutral changes take effect on notice. SFL tells you about material changes by email and in your account.
