# SFL Pilot Terms and Conditions
These Terms are an agreement between you, the registered pilot who accepts them, and Strike Fighter League Inc., a Delaware corporation ("SFL", "we", "us").
# How these Terms work
These Terms have three parts.
Part I is the agreement to compete. It applies to every pilot who enters an SFL event. It is not optional.
Part II covers optional choices. Each is yours alone, and declining any of them costs you nothing.
Part III lists the separate documents that some steps require, and says when each one appears.
Please read Part I before you accept.
# Part I: Entry Terms
# 1. This agreement
1.1 Scope. These Terms govern your SFL pilot account, your entry into SFL Online Tournament Series ("OTS") events, practice on SFL-operated servers, qualification runs, and competition.
1.2 Acceptance. SFL presents these Terms when you click Enter to enter an OTS event, before your first session on SFL servers. If you have already accepted this version, SFL does not ask again. Entry is the only trigger: practice on SFL servers opens only after you enter, so there is no separate acceptance to join practice. SFL shows you the full text, and you accept by one affirmative act. SFL verifies your DCS UCID before you can enter (Section 3.3). If you registered under earlier wording and have not yet reached this step, the earlier wording continues to govern you until you accept these Terms.
1.3 The agreement family. Your agreement with SFL consists of:
(a) these Terms;
(b) the SFL Code of Conduct (CONDUCT-1.0);
(c) the SFL Fair Play Agreement (FAIRPLAY-1.1);
(d) the SFL Media Release (MEDIA-1.0);
(e) the SFL Accuracy Confirmation (ACCURACY-1.0);
(f) the SFL Competition Charter and the SPINS that SFL publishes for each event (together, the "Competition Rules"), in the versions SFL publishes for that event at https://the-sfl.com/Competition/sfl-competition-v1.html;
(g) the Qualification Release, once you sign it;
(h) the Parent/Guardian Consent, if you are under 18, once your parent or guardian signs it; and
(i) the Physiology Authorization, only at the Live Pro Series and only if you sign it.
The documents in (b) to (e) are the registration documents. Each forms part of these Terms in the version you accepted, or in a later version that takes effect for you under Section 11. If you have not yet accepted one of them, SFL presents it to you before these Terms.
You have also been shown the SFL Registration Data Notice (DATA-NOTICE-1.0). It is a notice that gives you information about the registration form. It is not a term of this agreement.
If these Terms conflict with the Competition Rules on a rule of play, the Competition Rules control. If these Terms conflict with another document in this list, the more specific document controls for its own subject. Sections 13 and 14 of these Terms always control.
An event may limit entry by residence, nationality, or other criteria stated in its SPINS.
1.4 Definitions.
"SFL-Server Session" means any session you fly on SFL-operated servers: practice, qualification runs, and competition.
"Capture" means the recording described in Section 6.
"Your Media" has the meaning given in the Media Release.
"Competition Materials" means Your Media, together with the server-side flight telemetry, scoring records and adjudication records generated in SFL-Server Sessions and SFL events. Competition Materials never include Security Data, your face, any webcam or face-camera feed, or any physiological data.
"League Purposes" means operating, scheduling, scoring, adjudicating, securing, broadcasting, streaming, archiving, promoting, marketing and advertising SFL and SFL events.
"Security Data" means data produced or read by the anti-cheat, verification and system-inspection functions described in Section 7 and Schedule A, including: DCS installation, configuration, version and state readings; installed-mod inventories and integrity results; the hardware profile and the cheat-tool check result described in Schedule A.3; the control-input samples described in Schedule A.4; inspection results and integrity logs; and the network latency and speed-test baselines described in Section 7.3. Security Data is used only for competition integrity, fairness adjudication, verification and event scheduling. It is never used for marketing. SFL never sells Security Data, never licenses it, and never includes it in any licensed or research dataset (Section 7.4). No Security Data is ever reclassified as, combined into, or delivered as Competition Materials or Control-Input Telemetry, even where the underlying signals are similar.
"Control-Input Telemetry" means a time-series record of your control actions during a session (stick, throttle, rudder and cockpit-control inputs, and cockpit events), captured by SFL's competition-capture tools and time-aligned with your flight data. Control-Input Telemetry: (a) is not captured under this version of these Terms; (b) could be captured only after a later version offers it as a separate optional choice under Part II, and only after SFL discloses the capture on your account page before the first captured session; (c) would enter a licensed dataset only if you opt in to that choice; and (d) is never Security Data. The anti-cheat and verification functions collect nothing for licensing.
"Consent Record" means the record SFL keeps of each acceptance, acknowledgment, opt-in or withdrawal: the version ID, the date and time, the exact text presented (checked by a hash), and the legal basis SFL recorded.
"SFL Virtual Pilot Kit" or "VPK" means the software that SFL provides for competition, described in Section 8 and Schedule B. Its integrity function is described in Section 7.
"UCID-Verify Tool" means SFL's standalone tool for verifying your DCS UCID, described in Sections 3.3 and 7.7 and Schedule A.
# 2. Eligibility
2.1 Minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old to register an SFL account, hold one, or compete. SFL does not knowingly register anyone under 13. If SFL learns that it holds an account or data of someone under 13, SFL closes the account and deletes the data.
2.2 Date of birth. You confirm that the date of birth on your account is true and accurate. Once SFL verifies it, it is locked, and SFL corrects it only on proof (Accuracy Confirmation clause 2). Falsifying your age is grounds for termination and forfeiture of prize eligibility.
2.3 Pilots under 18. If you are under 18:
(a) your parent or legal guardian must be named on your account with a working email address;
(b) a Parent/Guardian Consent, a separate document signed by your parent or guardian and not by you, is required before you fly any SFL-Server Session, including practice, and SFL will not open practice or confirm a qualification slot for you until it is signed;
(c) SFL publishes nothing in which you appear until it is signed (Section 6.7); and
(d) no data-licensing choice will be offered to you (Part II).
2.4 Identity and age proof. SFL may require government-issued proof of identity and age before confirming your eligibility or releasing any prize.
2.5 Sanctions. You represent, when you accept and for as long as you compete, that you are not: (a) located in, ordinarily resident in, or competing from any country or territory subject to comprehensive U.S. economic sanctions (as of the version date of these Terms: Cuba, Iran, North Korea, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine); or (b) a person with whom U.S. persons are prohibited from dealing, including any person on the U.S. Treasury OFAC Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List. You will tell SFL promptly if this stops being true. Full sanctions screening and payment paperwork happen at the qualification step (Section 9). SFL may suspend or end your participation, and withhold any prize, where continuing would violate applicable law.
2.6 One account. One account per pilot. Accounts are personal and cannot be transferred.
# 3. Registration, entry, and the pilot lifecycle
3.1 Lifecycle. You register once and enter each OTS event separately. The stages are: REGISTER (you create your account); VERIFY (SFL verifies your DCS UCID and your Discord identity); ENTER (you enter a specific OTS event and accept these Terms); QUALIFY (you book and fly scheduled qualification runs, and the Qualification Release signs at booking); and COMPETE. An unverified account cannot enter. Registering does not guarantee entry, qualification, or a place in any event.
3.2 Free entry. There is no fee, purchase or payment of any kind to register, verify, enter, qualify or compete in an OTS event.
3.3 Account accuracy and verification. Keep your account information current, as the Accuracy Confirmation requires. SFL verifies your DCS UCID before you can enter. Where SFL uses the UCID-Verify Tool for this, Section 7.7 states what it does to your DCS installation. SFL describes any other verification step, including Discord membership requirements, before it applies.
3.4 At-home practice. Registered pilots may download published mission files and mods for at-home practice without entering an event. At-home sessions are not flown on SFL servers, are unscored, and are not captured by SFL. Capture applies only to SFL-Server Sessions (Section 6).
3.5 Your account. Keep your login details secret. You are responsible for activity on your account. If you believe someone else has used it, tell SFL promptly at [email protected].
# 4. How SFL uses data to run the league
4.1 Basis: this contract, not consent. SFL processes the data described in this Section and in Sections 6 and 7 because it is necessary to run the competition you are entering: to operate, schedule, score, adjudicate, secure, broadcast and archive SFL events, and to meet SFL's legal obligations. SFL does not ask for your consent for these league operations, and none of them switch off if you decline an optional choice in Part II. They are part of this contract.
4.2 What league operations use. Account and registration data; server-side flight telemetry generated during SFL-Server Sessions; scoring and adjudication records; in-game video; your voice on SFL-operated channels (Section 6.4); and Security Data (Section 7).
4.3 What league operations never do. Under this version of these Terms, SFL sells or licenses no personal data of yours. League operations never place your personal data in a licensed dataset. SFL does not sell your account, identity, payment, tax or anti-cheat data, and never has. No data-licensing choice is offered in this version of these Terms (Part II). Aggregated statistics that cannot identify any individual pilot may be published, but they include your registration answers only if you tick the separate research statistics box.
4.4 Privacy Notice. SFL's Privacy Notice at https://the-sfl.com/privacy describes the categories of data SFL holds, how long SFL keeps them, your rights, and how to reach SFL. The version in force when you accept these Terms is recorded with your acceptance. The Privacy Notice is incorporated into these Terms by reference for what it covers. The SFL Registration Data Notice (DATA-NOTICE-1.0) summarizes the Privacy Notice for the registration form. It is a notice, not a contract term, and where the two differ, the Privacy Notice controls.
4.5 Legal bases and your rights (EU, UK and similar laws).
(a) If you are in the EU, the EEA or the UK, SFL processes the Section 4.2 data because it is necessary to perform this contract (GDPR and UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Anti-cheat, security and abuse prevention, and compliance with legal duties outside the EU and the UK (tax and sanctions screening), rest on legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)). Nothing in league operations rests on your consent.
(b) SFL asks for consent only for optional choices. You can withdraw any consent at any time, as Privacy Notice section 10 explains. Withdrawing never affects your entry, standing or prizes. The broadcast face camera is not a consent. If you qualify for the live bracket, it is a condition of competing in it (Section 6.1), and SFL processes the feed because it is necessary to perform this contract (Article 6(1)(b)). The Qualification Release records your acknowledgment of that condition (Section 9.1(c)); it does not ask your consent to it.
(c) Your rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdrawal of any consent), how to use them, and how SFL protects international transfers are stated in Privacy Notice sections 2, 8 and 9. Nothing in these Terms limits any right your law makes mandatory.
(d) For consent-based processing of a pilot under 18, SFL asks for parent or guardian consent whatever the local age threshold, with the one exception for league news email that Privacy Notice section 11 states.
4.6 Optional choices. Part II describes the optional choices. Declining any of them never affects your registration, entry, standing, scoring, prizes, or place in any event.
# 5. Conduct
5.1 Rules of play. You will follow the Competition Rules, including the published scoring and tiebreak methods.
5.2 Code of Conduct. You will follow the SFL Code of Conduct, in the version that applies to you under Section 1.3.
5.3 Comms discipline. SFL-operated voice channels that SFL marks as recorded are recorded (Section 6.4) and may be broadcast. Keep them professional.
5.4 Fair play. You will follow the SFL Fair Play Agreement, in the version that applies to you under Section 1.3. Section 7 describes the verification tools.
5.5 Enforcement. SFL may warn, penalize, suspend, disqualify or ban you for a breach of this Section, the Code of Conduct, the Fair Play Agreement or the Competition Rules. Sanctions and appeals follow Code of Conduct clauses 5 and 6. You may appeal within 7 days after SFL tells you of a sanction, by email to [email protected]. Your appeal is decided by an SFL official, or by the appeal body the Competition Charter names for that decision, who was not involved in the original decision.
# 6. Competition capture and media
6.1 What is captured, and when. In every SFL-Server Session, including practice sessions on SFL servers, SFL may record: (a) in-game video of your flying; (b) server-side flight telemetry; and (c) your voice on SFL-operated channels that SFL marks as recorded. Webcam and face-camera capture do not happen in practice sessions or qualification runs. If you qualify for the live bracket, the broadcast face camera is a condition of competing in it. The face-camera feed runs only while you are on broadcast in the live bracket and only for broadcast, through the VPK's broadcast face-camera function (Section 8.4), under the commitments in Section 6.6. You grant SFL the license in Section 6.3, with every limit in Section 6.3(b), over that feed and the published cuts that contain it, for League Purposes only. The feed is not Competition Materials and never enters any licensed dataset. Raw face-camera footage is kept for 24 months after the event, except footage that is part of a published cut and footage held for a dispute, as section 18 of the Privacy Notice states. The Qualification Release records your acknowledgment of this condition (Section 9.1(c)); it does not ask your consent to it. At-home sessions are not captured (Section 3.4).
6.2 Your acknowledgment. You acknowledge that Capture may run in every SFL-Server Session, including practice; that captured material becomes Competition Materials; and that SFL routinely clips practice sessions on SFL servers and publishes the clips to SFL's channels, identified by your callsign, under the license in Section 6.3. Recording on voice channels is marked as Section 6.4 describes.
6.3 League media license. The Media Release grants SFL a license to Your Media. You grant SFL the same license over all Competition Materials: a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to record, use, copy, edit, broadcast, stream, publicly display, distribute and archive them, in any medium now known or later developed, for League Purposes only. This license:
(a) extends to SFL's broadcast partners and service providers acting for SFL, for League Purposes only, and SFL may transfer it to a successor to its business;
(b) carries the limits in Media Release clause 3: it does not let SFL sell or license Competition Materials, or data drawn from them, as a dataset; use them to train an AI model, or license them to anyone who will; create a synthetic voice or likeness of you; or let anyone use them for their own purposes, other than SFL and those acting for SFL; SFL's own production tools may work on them to make SFL coverage as Media Release clause 3 describes;
(c) is granted as part of this contract, in return for access to SFL servers, the chance to compete in SFL events, and prize eligibility, and survives the end of your participation for material already captured (Section 6.9); and
(d) for a pilot under 18, or a pilot whose age SFL has not verified, takes effect for publication only as Section 6.7 states.
You keep ownership of what you create. This license and the Media Release are licenses, not transfers of ownership. Declining an optional choice in Part II does not remove you from SFL broadcasts, clips or social content, because this license is part of the mandatory Part I.
6.4 Voice channels. Recording runs only on SFL-operated channels. SFL marks every recorded channel with a recording indicator and a join announcement, and recording runs only during active, marked sessions. You agree:
(a) not to bring anyone onto a recorded channel who has not accepted SFL's recording terms, including guests and coaches; and
(b) to take reasonable care that people in the room with you know your open microphone is being recorded.
6.5 Sponsors. Sponsors may appear alongside, and be shown with, Competition Materials only in connection with SFL events and their promotion. No sponsor may use your callsign, gameplay, voice or likeness in standalone product advertising, or in any way that suggests you personally endorse it, without your separate written consent.
6.6 No biometric templates. SFL does not create, derive, keep or use any biometric identifier or biometric template from Capture, or from the broadcast face-camera feed described in Section 6.1, and SFL configures its capture and broadcast tools so that none is produced. SFL does not apply facial recognition, face-geometry mapping, voiceprint or speaker identification, or eye or gaze tracking to you. Raw audio and video are kept and deleted as the Privacy Notice states.
6.7 Pilots under 18, and pilots whose age SFL has not verified. SFL publishes content in which you appear or can be identified only after SFL has verified that you are 18 or older or, if you are under 18, after your parent or guardian has signed the Parent/Guardian Consent. Until then, including while SFL has no date of birth on file for you, SFL publishes nothing in which you appear or can be identified: no broadcast, video on demand, clips, social posts or promotional material. This applies to every SFL channel, including the clips SFL posts from practice sessions. SFL may still capture, score and run your sessions in the meantime.
6.8 Savings. Nothing in this Section limits any right you have under data-protection law. The license in Section 6.3 is a publicity and content license. SFL's handling of personal data within Competition Materials is governed by Section 4, the Privacy Notice and applicable law. Content that identifies you by callsign, including practice clips, is pseudonymized personal data under data-protection law, and SFL never describes it as anonymous.
6.9 If you stop competing. If you leave an event or close your account, SFL stops capturing you. Competition Materials already captured stay licensed for League Purposes under Section 6.3. SFL keeps and deletes them as section 18 of the Privacy Notice states, and section 9 of the Privacy Notice explains how SFL handles a request to remove published content.
6.10 SFL's name and content. SFL's name and logos, the SFL portal, and SFL broadcasts are protected by intellectual-property rights that belong to SFL or to others. These Terms give you no rights in them except the permission in this Section. You may share SFL broadcast clips that feature you, for non-commercial purposes, with credit to SFL. This permission covers SFL's own rights in the clip only. You may not use SFL's name or logos to suggest that SFL endorses you or any product.
# 7. Anti-cheat and verification: the VPK integrity function and the UCID-Verify Tool
7.1 The tools. Anti-cheat and verification run through two SFL tools: the UCID-Verify Tool, which SFL may use to verify your DCS UCID before you can enter (Section 3.3), and the VPK integrity function, which runs during SFL Sessions, as the Fair Play Agreement defines them, when an event requires the VPK.
7.2 What they do and do not do. The VPK integrity function and the UCID-Verify Tool perform only the functions listed in Schedule A. They never collect passwords or the credentials of any account; never read your personal files, documents, messages or browsing data; never use your webcam or any face-camera feed; and never run outside the times Schedule A describes. Your authorization extends to Schedule A and nothing else.
7.3 Connection baselines. The VPK integrity function may measure your latency and connection speed. SFL keeps the results as Security Data and uses them only as a fair-play baseline for competition integrity, fairness adjudication, verification and event scheduling.
7.4 Security Data is never licensed. Security Data is used only for the purposes in Section 1.4, kept as Section 7.5 states, and permanently excluded from any licensed or research dataset, under any optional choice or otherwise. No future version of these Terms can change this exclusion without your affirmative re-acceptance under Section 11.3(b), and SFL states that it will never propose such a change.
7.5 Retention. SFL keeps Security Data for 12 months from the event and then deletes it, unless SFL preserves it for a specific investigation. The Fair Play Agreement and section 18 of the Privacy Notice state the same period.
7.6 Declining. If an event requires the VPK and you do not run its integrity function as required, you cannot fly SFL-Server Sessions in that event. That is a competition-integrity condition of scored play, not a consent.
7.7 What the UCID-Verify Tool does to your installation. When you run it, the UCID-Verify Tool temporarily configures your DCS installation, captures only the verification data it needs, and restores your installation when it exits. Schedule A lists its full scope.
# 8. SFL Virtual Pilot Kit (VPK)
8.1 What it is. The VPK is the software that SFL provides to standardize practice, verification and competition capture. Receiving or using the VPK is not a condition of entering an OTS event. When SFL announces that an event requires the VPK, flying scored sessions on SFL servers in that event requires it. This Section 8 and Schedule B are the VPK terms the Fair Play Agreement refers to.
8.2 Hardware. SFL does not provide hardware to pilots under this version of these Terms. If SFL ever offers hardware to you, separate written terms will apply, and you will receive them before you receive the hardware.
8.3 Software. VPK software is licensed to you, not sold, for use with SFL competition only. VPK software may temporarily modify your DCS installation for a session, and it restores your installation when it quits. Do not tamper with, modify, reverse engineer or repurpose VPK software, or interfere with its capture or verification functions.
8.4 VPK capture. Data captured through the VPK during SFL-Server Sessions is Capture under Section 6 or Security Data under Section 7, on the same terms. Your webcam is outside the VPK's integrity and inspection scope (Section 7 and Schedule A). The only use the VPK makes of your webcam is the broadcast face-camera stream described here. During live bracket broadcasts, the VPK streams your webcam feed to SFL's broadcast platform, only while you are on broadcast and only for broadcast. The face camera is a condition of competing in the live bracket (Section 6.1), and the VPK streams it once you have acknowledged that condition in the Qualification Release. The feed is never used for anti-cheat or integrity inspection, and it never enters any licensed dataset.
8.5 Third-party software. Your own game accounts and installations, and any other third-party software you use, stay governed by their own license terms, and you are responsible for complying with them. SFL grants you no rights in any third-party software.
# 9. The qualification step: Qualification Release (separate)
9.1 When you book your first qualification run in an event, or when you enter the event if you booked or flew a qualification run before you accepted these Terms, you complete the Qualification Release, a separate, short signing step covering:
(a) prize payment eligibility and tax documentation (IRS Form W-9 for U.S. persons, and the W-8 family of forms for others);
(b) sanctions screening certification, and re-certification at payout;
(c) your acknowledgment that, if you qualify for the live bracket, the broadcast face camera is a condition of competing in it, on the terms in Section 6.1: broadcast only, under the commitments in Section 6.6, raw footage kept for 24 months after the event as section 18 of the Privacy Notice states, never in any licensed dataset. Qualification runs are flown without a camera; and
(d) for pilots under 18, the parent or guardian's payment and tax paperwork.
You cannot hold a qualification slot without this paperwork. SFL does not confirm a booking until the Qualification Release, and for a pilot under 18 the Parent/Guardian Consent, is signed. If you booked or flew a qualification run before you accepted these Terms, your qualification results stand once you accept these Terms, and SFL presents the Qualification Release when you enter or at your next booking, whichever comes first.
9.2 These Terms refer to the Qualification Release. They do not absorb it. It is presented at booking with its own Consent Record.
9.3 If you never book a qualification run, you never sign it, and nothing in it applies to you.
# 10. Prizes
10.1 Skill. OTS events are skill competitions. Outcomes are decided by pilot performance under the Competition Rules. Tiebreak methods are published in the SPINS before the event.
10.2 Free entry. No purchase or payment is ever required to register, verify, enter, qualify or compete.
10.3 Payment conditions. The Competition Rules for each event set any prize, its value and its conditions. Prizes are payable only after the Qualification Release paperwork is complete, screening clears, and your identity is confirmed. Prize payments may be subject to tax reporting and withholding. SFL may withhold, delay or decline payment where SFL determines that payment is or may be prohibited or restricted by applicable law, or where a representation in Section 2.5 was or becomes inaccurate. Where payment is prohibited because you are a blocked person, SFL does not cancel or reassign the prize. SFL holds it as blocked property and reports it as U.S. sanctions law requires.
10.4 No other payment. Other than prizes you win under the published rules, you receive no payment for the rights you grant in these Terms.
# 11. Changes to these Terms
11.1 Versioning and grounds. SFL may revise these Terms on any of these grounds: a change in law or regulation; a change in event format or structure; a change in platform or technical functionality; or corrections and clarifications. Every version has a version ID, a release date and an effective date, all recorded in SFL's version register. Your Consent Record pins the exact version and text you accepted. Changes to the registration documents in Section 1.3(b) to (e) follow this Section 11.
11.2 Notice. For any material change, SFL gives at least 30 days' notice before the effective date, by email to your account address and by a banner and re-acceptance surface on your account page. Every notice states: (a) the nature of the changes; (b) the reason for them, in plain terms; and (c) the effective date. Change notices are operational service messages. They are sent whether or not you have opted in to league news email, and they never carry promotional content.
11.3 Two kinds of change.
(a) Clarifications and tightening. Changes that do not expand any data purpose, category or recipient, and do not weaken any promise to you, take effect on the stated effective date at the end of the notice period, never earlier, and never merely on notice. Your acceptance is not collected again; the version change is logged to your Consent Record. If you continue to participate after the effective date of a change under this lane (a), that continued participation is your acceptance of that change. This continued-use rule applies to lane (a) only.
(b) Expansions. Changes that add a data purpose, data category or recipient class, or weaken a promise, apply to you only after you affirmatively accept them again. Silence, continued participation, or ignoring the notice is never acceptance of an expansion. Re-acceptance works like your first acceptance: you are shown the revised terms in full, scroll through them, and take an affirmative act, and the acceptance is written to your Consent Record. If you do not accept: the prior version continues to govern you; you may complete any event you already entered on your existing version; and the new version is presented again when you next enter an event. Features that genuinely require the new terms may be unavailable to you until you accept them, but declining an expansion never affects your entry, scoring, broadcast treatment, or any optional choice you already made.
11.4 Minors. If you are under 18, SFL sends every notice under Section 11.2, not only notices of changes that concern minors, to your parent or guardian's email address on file, and any acceptance of a changed version is your parent or guardian's act, whatever the direction of the change. You cannot accept any change yourself while you are under 18.
11.5 Your exit right. If you decline any revision, you may stop competing and close your account at any time and at no cost, including at any time before the change takes effect. You may also complete any event you already entered on your existing version. Declining a revision never invalidates what was lawfully done under the version you accepted.
# 12. Term and ending participation
12.1 Term. These Terms apply from your acceptance until your account closes or is terminated.
12.2 You leave. You may stop competing at any time. You may close your account by writing to [email protected], or from your account page where it offers closure. What survives: the Section 6.3 license for Competition Materials already captured (League Purposes only); Media Release clause 9; Fair Play Agreement clause 6; Accuracy Confirmation clause 4; Consent Records, kept as compliance records; and Sections 13 and 14. Personal-data deletion follows the Privacy Notice.
12.3 SFL suspends or closes. SFL may suspend or close your account for cheating, conduct breaches, fraud, ineligibility or breach of these Terms, or where the law requires. Sanctions and appeals follow Code of Conduct clauses 5 and 6. Termination for cause can void results and forfeit unpaid prizes under the Competition Rules, except a prize that is blocked property under Section 10.3.
# 13. Disclaimers, liability, and responsibility
13.1 Events as available. SFL provides events and servers as available. Server faults and technical interruptions during scored play are handled under the Competition Rules.
13.2 Liability. To the extent the law allows: (a) SFL's total liability to you for all claims arising from these Terms or your participation in SFL is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid SFL in the 12 months before the claim arose and US$100; and (b) neither you nor SFL is liable to the other for indirect or consequential losses. This limit does not apply to a prize SFL owes you under the published rules. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or any other liability or consumer right that the law does not allow to be excluded or limited.
13.3 Your responsibility. You are responsible for your own equipment, connection and software environment (except the VPK, under Section 8), and for claims arising from your breach of these Terms or your unlawful conduct. If you are under 18, SFL takes no indemnity from you. Any parent or guardian obligations are in the Parent/Guardian Consent only.
13.4 Disclaimer. SFL is a competition league run in a consumer flight simulator. It is not flight training. Nothing SFL does certifies or measures any real-world aviation skill or qualification. SFL provides its servers, portal, tools, broadcasts and scoring "as is" and "as available". SFL does not promise that they will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any result, ranking or score will be free of error. The Competition Rules decide when results are final. To the extent the law allows, SFL disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing in this Section limits any consumer right that cannot be limited by contract.
13.5 Health and safety. Flight simulation involves long periods of screen time and may involve VR headsets. Some people experience motion sickness or eye strain and, rarely, seizures triggered by flashing lights. Take breaks. Stop if you feel unwell. Follow any medical advice you have been given, and do not take part if a medical professional has advised you not to. You choose your own equipment and setup, and you are responsible for using them safely. In-person events and motion-simulator events, such as the Live Pro Series, need their own participation release. These Terms do not provide one.
# 14. General
14.1 Governing law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, but this choice does not deprive you of any protection of the law of your place of residence that cannot be waived by contract. A right that the mandatory law of your place of residence does not allow you to waive is never waived by these Terms.
14.2 Severability, transfer and waiver. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the rest stand. SFL may transfer these Terms to a successor to its business. You may not transfer them without SFL's written consent. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it.
14.3 Entire agreement. The documents in Section 1.3 are the entire agreement between you and SFL on their subject, and they replace any earlier understanding on it. The OTS-2 Competitor Consent, Eligibility & Media Release v1.0-20260629 continues to govern OTS-2 and the material captured under it.
14.4 Electronic execution. These Terms may be accepted and delivered electronically. Electronic acceptance is valid and binding under the U.S. ESIGN Act, the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act, and other applicable law.
14.5 Notices. SFL sends you notices by email to your account address and shows them on your account page. You send notices to SFL at [email protected].
14.6 Language. These Terms are written in English. If SFL provides a translation, the English text controls.
14.7 Contact. Strike Fighter League Inc., 800 N King Street, Suite 304-3164, Wilmington, DE 19801, United States. Email: [email protected].
# Part II: Optional choices
Optional choices sit outside the mandatory Part I. Each has its own text and version, is presented on its own with its box unticked, and can be changed on your account page. Declining any of them never affects your registration, entry, standing, scoring, prizes, or appearance in SFL broadcasts and clips.
In this version, the optional choice is the research statistics box. If you tick it, your registration answers may count toward aggregated statistics about the competitive field that cannot identify any individual pilot. SFL may offer other optional choices, each as its own version, such as league news email (COMMS-1.0) on your account page.
SFL is preparing an optional data-licensing program, described in section 5 of the Privacy Notice. It is not offered in this version of these Terms. Under it, pilots who choose to take part would license some of their competition data, with names and identifiers removed, and would receive a royalty. Nothing of yours is licensed unless and until you opt in under a later version that you accept affirmatively. Silence never opts anyone in. The program will not be offered to anyone under 18 or under the age of majority where they live, and Security Data will never be part of it.
# Part III: Separate documents
These documents are referred to in these Terms. Each is signed on its own, and none of them applies to you until it is signed.
Qualification Release. Signed when you book your first qualification run, or when you enter if you booked first (Section 9). It covers prize, tax and sanctions paperwork, and your acknowledgment that the broadcast face camera is a condition of the live bracket.
Parent/Guardian Consent. For pilots under 18. Signed by the parent or guardian, not the pilot, and required before the pilot flies any SFL-Server Session, including practice (Section 2.3). The publication rule in Section 6.7 applies until it is signed.
Physiology Authorization (Live Pro Series only). A separately signed writing, required by law, before any physiological capture (heart rate, respiration, G-load). No OTS activity collects physiological data.
# Schedule A: Inspection scope of the VPK integrity function and the UCID-Verify Tool
A.1 When they run. SFL configures both tools to run only during SFL Sessions, as the Fair Play Agreement defines them: while you are connected to an SFL server, flying an SFL qualification run, or completing an SFL entry or verification step.
A.2 UCID-Verify Tool. When you run it to verify your DCS UCID, the UCID-Verify Tool temporarily configures your DCS installation, captures only the verification data it needs, and restores your installation when it exits.
A.3 VPK integrity function. The VPK integrity function reads only: (a) your DCS installation, configuration, version and state; (b) your installed-mod inventories and their integrity results; (c) your network latency and speed-test baselines (Section 7.3); (d) a hardware profile of your computer: your operating system, your processor, your graphics card and the amount of memory installed; and (e) a cheat-tool check: whether any program running on your computer is on SFL's fixed list of programs that can give an unfair advantage. The check records only yes or no. It does not record the name of any program. Neither the profile nor the check reads what a program contains or displays, its window titles, its files or its command line. The VPK integrity function does not read your computer's name or the name of your Windows user account.
A.4 Control-input sampling. During SFL Sessions, the VPK samples your stick, throttle and rudder signals to check fair play. This sampling is part of the VPK integrity function for these Terms, whichever part of the VPK performs it. The samples stay on your computer or go only to SFL's Security Data store. Everything sampled is Security Data. It is used only for competition integrity, it is never Control-Input Telemetry, and it is never licensed. The samples are deleted within 12 months from the event, wherever they are held, as Section 7.5 states.
A.5 What neither tool touches. Neither tool collects passwords or the credentials of any account, reads your personal files, documents, messages or browsing data, or uses your webcam or any face-camera feed.
A.6 What SFL keeps. Everything either tool produces or reads is Security Data. SFL keeps it for 12 months from the event and then deletes it, unless SFL preserves it for a specific investigation (Section 7.5).
# Schedule B: SFL Virtual Pilot Kit (VPK) functions and handling
B.1 What the VPK does. The VPK has four functions: (a) session automation for SFL Sessions; (b) integrity monitoring of DCS, your installed mods and your computer, including the hardware profile, the cheat-tool check and control-input sampling (Section 7 and Schedule A); (c) a network speed test (Section 7.3); and (d) a broadcast face-camera function, which runs only in the live bracket, where the face camera is a condition of competing (Section 6.1 and B.3).
B.2 Your DCS installation. VPK software may temporarily modify your DCS installation for a session, and it restores your installation when it quits (Section 8.3).
B.3 Your webcam.
B.4 Collection scope. Apart from the broadcast face-camera stream in B.3, SFL configures the VPK so that it collects nothing from your computer other than the Security Data listed in Schedule A. Control-input samples that the VPK saves on your computer under A.4 are Security Data, even while they stay on your computer.
